Thursday 2 11 21 morning call

Hookipa yesterday.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
0.5ft @ 20s from 215° (SW)

Lanai

0.4ft @ 20s from 206° (SSW)

Slivers of long period energy at the buoys. Below are the fetch maps from a week ago (Feb 3 through 5). Decent position, but lacking the right wind juice. I wouldn't get excited at all, but, as usual, check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
Pauwela

4.9ft @ 9s from 8° (N)
3ft @ 12s from 338° (NNW)

Mix of 9s N energy and winding down 12s NW energy at Pauwela. A relatively small day for the north shore, before the next XL swell hits on Saturday. Home guess for Hookipa is head high with possible occasional bigger waves.

Wind map at noon.
While waiting for the usual wind maps to come back online, these are two alternatives: PACIOOS page and Surfline.
