Wednesday 4 12 23 morning call

Hookipa yesterday morning. I scored it "4 but with gems" in my beach report, this is one of them.

Hookipa yesterday afternoon. Photo by Jimmie Hepp from this album.

Honolua Bay yesterday.

Kane tuning his foil at Kanaha.

And then testing it out. This photo made me think about a system to attach the wing to the board just for the long upwind reaches. Probably a bad idea, but would be fun to try.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion

South shore
Barbers

    • 0.7ft
      , 13s, S 185º

Lanai

    • 0.6ft
      , 13s, S 185º

Very small southerly energy at the buoys. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore

N

  • 8.9ft
    , 9s, NE 40º
  • 2.7ft
    , 11s, NNE 15º

Hanalei

  • 8.3ft
    , 9s, NE 40º
  • 4.3ft
    , 6s, NE 50º

Mokapu

  • 7.3ft
    , 10s, NNE 25º
  • 5.4ft
    , 7s, ENE 70º

The elevated northerly energy is still at the buoys, but now coming from a NE direction. Home guess for Hookipa is head and a half to double.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
