Tuesday 4 18 23 morning call

Kanaha yesterday.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
Barbers

    • 3.1ft
      , 7s, SSE 165º
    • 3.3ft

    • 2.1ft
      , 5s, S 175º
    • 0.9ft
      , 11s, S 180º

Southerly energy coming from the fetch highlighted yesterday shows 2ft 14s at Lanai. There will also be southerly windswell in the water (because of the approaching front that you see over Kauai in the satellite picture), so expect less organized than usual breaking patterns. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore

Hanalei

  • 3.9ft
    , 7s, E 80º
  • 1.8ft

  • 0.5ft
    , 13s, WNW 295º

Mokapu

  • 3.5ft
    , 7s, ENE 75º

Only small easterly windswell in the water, home guess for Hookipa is flat to waist high, bigger on eastern exposures.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
