            • 1.1ft
              , 5s, E 90º
Small short period NNW-N energy is rising at the buoys and should arrive locally in the afternoon and peak tomorrow. The maps of August 27 through 31 below show the fetch that generated it, indicated by a black arrow. The red arrow instead indicates a different fetch that generated another small but longer period NW swell that Surfline predicts to reach 2ft 15s on Tuesday. Home guess for Hookipa is flat in the morning and waist high by the end of the day.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.

Friday 8 29 25 morning call

Kanaha yesterday.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion. South shore
Barbers
      • 2ft
        , 17s, S 190º

Lanai
      • 1.8ft
        , 14s, S 185º

      • 0.6ft
        , 12s, SSW 200º

Small southerly energy at Lanai while Barbers shows 2ft 17s of a new long period swell. My guess is that it comes from the last days of the fetch below that was in place till August 21st and that I already posted a few days ago. In fact, I can't find anything else for a week after that. Surfline calls for 2.5ft 16 by the end of the day.

Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore

Waimea

            • 1.3ft
              , 8s, N 10º

Pauwela

            • 3.3ft
              , 8s, E 85º
            • 2ft
              , 4s, E 80º
The residual 8s northerly energy shown by Waimea is negligible and all there is in our waters is a small easterly windswell. Home guess for Hookipa is flat.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.

Small but 15s southerly energy at the buoys. Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

            • 2.8ft
              , 4s, E 85º
Waimea still shows tiny 8s northerly energy, while Pauwela only has the usual easterly windswell. Home guess for Hookipa is flat to knee high..
