Sunday 8 17 25 morning call

Hookipa yesterday.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion. South shore

Yesterday's 17s energy is down to 14s while Lanai registers a new 17s pulse. It comes from the angular spreading fetch that happened in the maps of August 10 through 12 below. Surfline calls for very small numbers for it, but the cam shows some decent waves instead.

Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

Kaneohe

            • 4.6ft

Hanalei and Kaneohe (east Oahu) are the only buoys that show small residual 8/9s NE energy, which we can now consider gone. Back to easterly trades windswell only, home guess for Hookipa is around knee to waist high with possible bigger ones in the windiest hours of the day.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
