Saturday 10 11 25 morning call

Hookipa yesterday morning.

Hookipa at sunset.

At one point I noticed Kane De Wilde going down the coast in efoil mode (that's when he glides for such a long time after a few pumps without losing any altitude that he looks like he's on an efoil).

Here's at the break called Sunrises.

Then I saw Guido Ferrer doing the same and joining him down the coast all the way to Kuau. The wind was light Kona, so they decided to catch a wave there and come go back to Hookipa. What a new dimension, unimaginable a few years ago.

Small 12s southerly energy at the buoys with a bit more than half foot 18s of a new swell. Surfline only calls for 1.2ft 16s at sunset, but I got a feeling it might build more than that. Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

The small NW swell I mentioned on the 9th is rising at the buoys. Below I post again the maps of Oct 6 though 8 that show the fetch the generated it (red arrow). Meanwhile, the shorter period NE swell generated by the fetch indicated by the black arrows continues to be in the water. Home guess for Hookipa is around shoulder to head high with occasional bigger sets. It might get overhead towards the end of the day, depending on how much of those 4ft 13s at the NW buoy make it down here.
A much bigger swell is predicted for Monday/Tuesday, just in time for the start of the Aloha Classic windsurfing contest.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
