If you're me, you can cook pasta with broccoli and mushrooms for the friends who gathered to watch the Man United game.
If you're Kelly Slater, you can surf a whole contest like this...
... and win it.
That man is a living legend.
But he almost got kicked out in round 3 by Maui boy Dusty Paine (15.10 vs 13.84). Go to the heats on demand and check round 3 heat 15. If Dusty's second wave would have offered just one more turn...
Anyway, the more I see him surfing, the more I see a brilliant future for the young surfer from Lahaina.
First though, he'll have to wait for Kelly to win his 10th world title...
Interesting weather maps modeled for next week. A low pressure will form in an unusual place NE of the islands and will send plenty windswell waves from that direction. A high pressure NW of the islands will keep the winds blowing, but from a more onshore direction.
No clean surf on the north shore is my guess.
Small NW swell this weekend should be fun instead.
PS. On the right column of this blog I just added a widget with the Surfline conditions and tides for Hookipa. I'll check if it's accurate. I still kept the Laniakea cam, 'cause that is a good indicator of the size of the surf at Hookipa.
PPS. He didn't have a broken foot, but my friend Walter just sent me an email with this photo of Cortina where he was skiing like 5 hours ago. Perfect snow, sunny sky and very few people. I guess there's epic days in every sport...
Not that I've seen that many, but the Dolomites are by far the most beautiful mountains I've ever seen.

I would prefer that the Man United game was never ever ever mentioned again......Robben would look good in a United top yeah???
The great thing about watching a game not being a fan of the teams involved is that you don't really care about the result, but you just enjoy the game (that was very good indeed).
If Napoli was playing it would have been different...
Looking forward to watch Barcelona - Inter... that's gonna be a cracker!
