Barbers is mostly reading NW wrap these days and can't be used to detect small southerly energy. There might be some starting today, as the maps of Jan 6 though 8 below show a weak but fairly large fetch of wind aimed at us.
Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

Hanalei
Elevated WNW to NW energy continues at the buoys. The collage below is of the maps of Jan 9 through 12 and shows no shortage of NW fetches. Home guess for Hookipa is double overhead. The lack of wind should make for relatively clean conditions, even though the many overlapping energies might interfere with the breaking patterns.
