Friday 4 5 24 morning call

Hookipa yesterday.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion. South shore
Barbers
  • 5.6ft
    , 7s, SSE 165º
  • 1.5ft
    , 13s, S 185º

Pretty big SSE windswell (but I think the original direction is too east to reach our shores) plus small long period southerly energy at Barbers. Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore

N

        • 10.6ft
          , 11s, ENE 60º
        • 6.2ft
          , 6s, NE 55º

Waimea

        • 9.5ft
          , 11s, NNE 30º
        • 2.6ft
          , 6s, NE 35º

Pauwela

        • 10.9ft
          , 10s, ENE 65º
        • 5.9ft
          , 11s, NE 40º
        • 3ft
          , 5s, E 80º

Big NE-ENE swell continues at the buoys. Home guess for Hookipa is around double overhead. Same or more on eastern exposures like the Waiehu coast.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
