Hookipa yesterday morning.
Hookipa yesterday afternoon.
This is a video I did for the Foil Drive users. Not going to be particularly interesting for the non-owners, but I'll post it anyway, as it shows yet another day of incredibly good conditions and overall extremely fine weather. It's been almost a month and a half of no to light wind and pretty much no rain. Very unusual, and no complains.
4-5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers is mostly reading NW wrap and can't be used to detect small southerly energy. Check the Lahaina and Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency. If there's anything at all, it probably comes from the unimpressive fetch I indicate in the maps below of Feb 3 through 5.
North shore
NW101
4.3ft @ 12s from 294° (WNW)
Hanalei
4.7ft @ 12s from 298° (WNW)
Waimea
3.5ft @ 13s from 305° (WNW)
3.3ft @ 11s from 317° (NW)
Mokapu
3.3ft @ 9s from 73° (ENE)
Hilo
3.6ft @ 9s from 80° (E)
The steady supply of WNW energy continues at the upstream buoys, but now only at relatively small levels. Below is the collage of the maps of Feb 7 to 10 that show the fetches that generate it and they are not particularly strong. Home guess for Hookipa is around head high and clean.
