4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers is mostly reading NW wrap and can't be used to detect small southerly energy. Check the Lahaina and Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore

New NW swell has risen at the outer NW buoys, but not yet at the upstream islands (at least not in the readings, but small 16+s energy might be laying underneath already). Below is the graph of NW101 (the only one left, by mistake I think) together with the Surfline forecast. The red circle on the graph highlights the steep rise and the timing is compatible with the prediction on the right.
Below are the fetches of Jan 29 through 31. The fetch got more intense and moved north on the 30 and 31 and that's when it generated the high energy we will receive this evening.
Home guess for Hookipa in the morning is once again very challenging and around head high in rising to double plus in the late afternoon.
