Friday 8 23 24 morning call

Hookipa yesterday.

7am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion. South shore
Barbers
      • 1.3ft
        , 13s, S 180º
      • 0.8ft
        , 17s, S 180º

Lanai
      • 1.3ft
        , 11s, SSW 195º

Old south swell almost disappeared at the buoys, while Barbers shows new 17s energy that likely comes from the fetch south of New Zealand that happened on the 15th (see map below). It was a one day fetch, so not much to be expected by it.

      Check the
Kiheiwebcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

NW swell peaked yesterday but will linger in our waters also today. Home guess for the size of the sets at Hookipa is chest to head high with occasionally bigger ones.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
