After the canoe test in the morning, in the afternoon I went sailing in Kuau. I waited until the wind dropped a bit, because I don't like super strong winds. I had a remarkable session with the 4.7. Some windswell sets were mast high at Hookipa (12 feet, 9 seconds at the buoy)! The very easterly direction made the waves peel right right. No, it's not a typing mistake. They were really peeling right right! Hey, it's not my fault if English is weird.
This guy looks like Laird, and I bet he is. You got to be nuts to get in this storm and cruise down the coast standing up on a surfboard catching waves here and there...
I took this photo around 3pm. The sailors were fully powered in their 4.0s...
