Friday 10 22 21 morning call

Winging action yesterday at Kanaha.

Hookipa saw plenty action too.

4-5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1.8ft @ 13s from 203° (SSW)

NNW energy subsided and we can see again the southerly energy at Barbers. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency. Down compared to the last couple of days and early onshores.

North shore
NW101

6ft @ 9s from 16° (NNE)
2.4ft @ 15s from 332° (NNW)

Hanalei

3.5ft @ 10s from 353° (N)
3.4ft @ 11s from 350° (N)
2.4ft @ 5s from 42° (NE)
1.3ft @ 16s from 317° (NW)

Waimea

3.1ft @ 13s from 344° (NNW)
3ft @ 9s from 350° (N)
1.3ft @ 6s from 5° (N)
1.1ft @ 16s from 328° (NW)

Mixed periods NW to NNE energies at the upstream buoys. Without Pauwela, the home guess for Hookipa is particularly challenging today. I'm going to throw head to head and a half and not clean (because of the mix and of the wind). Notice how the Pacioos forecast below calls for a reinforcing 7.5ft 15s from the north tonight. Also Surfine has 7ft 14s at 3pm.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
