Monday 10 25 21 morning call

Hookipa yesterday morning.

The beautiful profile of the 5.0 F1 Strike. Got one in my car to try this morning (and Armstrong 1550 v1 and v2 to compare).

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1.6ft @ 13s from 196° (SSW)

Small SSW energy at Barbers. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW101
4.6ft @ 13s from 2° (N)

N
5.9ft @ 15s from 344° (NNW)

Hanalei
4ft @ 15s from 352° (N)

Waimea

2.9ft @ 17s from 350° (N)
2ft @ 14s from 351° (N)

Kaneohe Bay
5.1ft @ 6s from 60° (ENE)

New long period N energy is at the upstream buoys, although not quite as big as the forecasts predicted. Most of the last swells had more energy east of us, so it's possible that in Maui it's actually a bit bigger than what the buoys show. Home guess for Hookipa is around head and a half.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
