Friday 10 8 21 morning call

I did two wing downwinders (aka downwingers) yesterday, this image is from the morning one.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1ft @ 20s from 196° (SSW)

The large south swell is still very slowly starting to arrive at Barbers, but it should increase throughout the day. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
Hanalei
1.6ft @ 12s from 326° (NW)

Waimea

1.3ft @ 12s from 340° (NNW)
0.5ft @ 15s from 349° (NNW)

Kaneohe Bay
6.6ft @ 7s from 66° (ENE)

Still a bit of leftover NW energy at Waimea and Hanalei, but today it's going to be all about the rising windswell. Home guess for Hookipa is chest to head high, windy and sloppy.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).

(about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
