Thursday 1 9 20 morning call

Windy as hell here in Maui, this is Cloudbreak two days ago by Borthers Surf Tours. That means that there was a decent fetch in the Tasman Sea something like 4-5 days ago (I don't have those maps saved because I was away). Don't get excited though, only 1.4ft 14s from 197 predicted by Surfline on Sunday.

4am significant buoy readings and discussion
South shore
Barbers
1.6ft @ 12s from 186° (S)

Sliver of energy from the south at Barbers. Lahaina webcam not working, not worth the drive.

North shore
Pauwela
8.3ft @ 11s from 67° (ENE)
5.7ft @ 9s from 64° (ENE)
5.2ft @ 8s from 61° (ENE)

The buoys are back on the Surfline page, Pauwela shows plenty short period energy from the ENE. The strong wind will make the task of finding a sheltered spot extremely difficult.

Wind map at noon

Kahului Tides
High Tide     High Tide     Low Tide     Low Tide       Sunrise   Sunset

North Pacific has a WNW fetch and the strong windswell fetch.

Nothing of relevance in the South Pacific.

Morning sky.
