Monday 1 4 20 morning call

My pick of Jimmie Hepp's album of yesterday's windsurfing action at Hookipa.

4am significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
No southerly energy at the buoys, check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW001
7.2ft @ 16s from 328° (NW)

Waimea
5.9ft @ 15s from 324° (NW)

Mokapu
4.1ft @ 7s from 76° (ENE)

New NW pulse at the buoys, below is the collage of the maps of Dec 31 to Jan 3 that show the fetches. As you can see, they're all pretty distant and mostly aiming to the mainland's west coast.

Below are the graphs of the NW001 and Waimea together with the Surfline forecast. As I suspected, the swell won't get as high as this last one predicts. It should reach around 6ft 15s though, so my home guess for Hookipa is head and a half to double and relatively clean conditions in the morning thanks to the light wind.

Wind map at noon .The other ones can be found at link n.-2 of GP's meteo websites list in the right column (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
