Saturday 6 4 22 morning call

Hookipa yesterday at sunset had low quality waves in the chest to head high range.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
Barbers
2.1ft at 13s SSW 195º

South swell down to a couple of feet 13s. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
N
1.7ft @ 10s from 360° (N)

Hanalei
2.3ft @ 10s from 354° (N)

Waimea

2.1ft @ 9s
0.8ft @ 13s from 323° (NW)

Mokapu

1.8ft @ 7s from 78° (ENE)
1.6ft @ 6s from 79° (ENE)
1.6ft @ 9s from 4° (N)

The picture above shows how bad my "flat conditions" call was yesterday. I did see those 1.3ft 12s from the N at Waimea, but it was only there so I didn't feel like investigating. I also was eager to to chop my favorite HA725 foil, which I did and it's awesome. Below are the maps of May 30 through June 4 on which I put red arrows to indicate the fetch that generated this small northerly energy and black ones to indicate the one that generated a small NW swell that is possibly already showing at Waimea with that small 13s reading and that should provide similar size waves in the next few days (2.4ft 11s on Monday predicted by Surfline).

Assuming that 2.1ft 9s at Waimea (no indication of direction) is still the northerly energy (this morning also showing at Hanalei and North buoys), home guess for Hookipa is for chest to shoulder high waves with possible head highers here and there.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
