Koki beach yesterday.
5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.South shore
Barbers
0.9ft at 13s S 190º
Small southerly energy at Barbers. Check the Lahaina
webcam if interested, for size,
conditions and consistency. Small Tasman Sea energy should start arriving tomorrow.
North shore
Waimea
Mokapu
The tiny 20s reading at the very sensitive (and well protected) Waimea buoy indicates the on time arrival of some low westerly energy that was generated by the fetch indicated by a black line in the maps below of June 12 through 16. Surfline calls for 1ft 15s for tomorrow evening and 1.5ft 13s for Saturday (so nothing to be particularly excited about). The fetch got stronger and in a better position towards the end of the collage, so it should get a bit bigger (2ft 14s and 3ft 13s Sunday and Monday).
Only windswell in the water today, but if Mokapu's directions are correct, there should be some waves at Hookipa and on easterly exposures this morning.
Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
