That was a shocker this morning! I noticed it felt extra chilly too. Love it.

La Nina strikes again! If you need some winter sailing mitts, Cammar, or to find out what kind of fleece works best under the drysuit, just let me know!

La Nina sucks!

Today, January 29th, it was the first day of 2008 I didn't get in the water.
I had plenty time and energy, but the conditions (and air temperature... or should I say rain temperature?) were just too shitty for a spoiled Maui surfer/sailor like me...
Big respect goes out to all the surfer/sailors that have to wear thick wetsuits or even drysuits...

Btw, thanks for mentioning the word "mitt", that i didn't know. I had to urbandictionry it... I like definitions 2 and 4.

Had a good hour-long session today, January 29th, near Ho'okipa, one of the best of the year. Sunny, warm, mast high sets, 5.0, 70-liter board. Shared it with one other buddy, will never forget the grin on his face as he came out of the water. One man's trash, another man's treasure...

Sunny, 5.0???

Would you please share what time did you go out?
I sure missed that window of opportunity! It doesn't happen often, but it does happen sometimes...
Good for you anon, and if you see me at the beach, please identify yourself and tell me more about it.

Since I'm always the one telling how good the sesh was (on this blog), I love to hear it from others for a change...

"One man's trash, another man's treasure..."
That happens quite often. Like when somebody tries the Superfreaks and hate them... ;-)
Or even literally, when you see the homeless people gathering the beer bottles out the trash to get the five cents cash return...
But I don't think you can say that in this case. I must have just missed it, 'cause if I would have seen sunny and 5.0, I'd been out with you guys, that's for sure!

Time, please.

Wicked pic G.P! Thanks for sharing that one. And, for once, painting the not to perfect picture of Maui. ;-)

Hi Robin,

blowing hard in Holland these days, uh?
BTW, I didn't take the photo. I don't even know who took the photo... a friend of a friend of a friend...
My car doesn't even make it up to Kula!!

I love that it snowed in Maui. Minnesota has had some snow too... but it is expected here. =) I couldn't believe it when my Mum called to tell me that there was snow there. At least is wasn't -14 actual temp with a -37 windchill like it was here in Minneapolis.

So you didn't take the pic? It still is a beautiful pic all the same! Blowing hard? You could say that, predicted winds 40 mph with gusts over 50 mph. I would love to go out there today and take the 3.7 for a spin. Unfortunately work has other plans for me today.
