Friday 5 31 24 morning call

Been doing two downwind runs a day all week. This is a video from Wednesday.

        , 13s, SSW 195º
      • 0.6ft
        , 18s, S 185º

Very small southerly energy at the buoys. The small 18s readings should be the forerunners of the large Tahiti swell. Below are the maps of May 23 through 31 that show the fetch that generated it. It's going to be a very long lasting swell, but I doubt there'll be much today. Maybe later in the day, but it's more like tomorrow.

Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

            • 1.4ft
              , 3s, ENE 65º

Only easterly windswell at Pauwela, while the outer buoys show some NW energy so little that it's not particularly worth mentioning. Home guess for Hookipa is around knee high with possible occasional tiny NW sets at the end of the day.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
