Saturday 8 10 19 morning call

Beautiful waves on the south shore yesterday, but I didn't have time to take any photo and no, this is not Breakwall. Photo by Ben Thouard.

3am significant buoy readings and discussion
South shore
Barbers
2.7ft @ 13s from 193° (SSW)

Lanai
2.8ft @ 13s from 184° (S)

Nice 13s readings at the buoys, even though this first swell might have peaked yesterday afternoon. Check the webcam before going if it's after 5am. No signs yet of the new long period pulse predicted for the weekend, but it might be laying underneath the 13s energy.

North shore
Mokapu
2.8ft @ 8s from 101° (ESE)
2.4ft @ 6s from 90° (E)

North shore flat also today.

Wind map at noon.

North Pacific has the same three small fetches it had yesterday. The west energy from the typhoons should start arriving Monday.

South Pacific has scattered fetches too, none of which particularly exciting.

Morning sky.
