Thursday 9 22 22 morning call

I'm back and found a couple of pleasent surprises: The Pauwela buoy is finally back and there's a new Kahului harbor webcam! Check out the link, here's how it looks. It should be able to show all the surf spots when there's waves.
Oh, and a new Hi-Tech hosted webcam at the Cove in Kihei.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore

  • 3.3ft
    , 17s, S 185º

  • 3ft
    , 17s, S 180º

Pretty good readings at the buoys. I don't have the fetch maps of the last 7 days, but the Surfline forecast looks decent for the next few days. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore

  • 2.7ft
    , 11s, NNW 335º

  • 2.5ft
    , 11s, NNW 330º

  • 1.9ft
    , 10s, NNW 330º

  • 2ft
    , 11s, NNW 335º
  • 2.7ft
    , 7s, ENE 60º

Very small NNW energy at the buoys and almost non existent windswell. Home guess for Hookipa is around belly high.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.

Fetches map
(circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.

North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):

South Pacific
(about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):

Morning sky.
