Sunday 9 3 23 morning call

Hookipa yesterday.

This is my test of the new three blade propeller hub from Foil Drive.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion. South shore
Barbers
        • 2.2ft
          , 14s, S 190º

Lanai
        • 1.7ft
          , 14s, S 180º
        • 1.3ft
          , 17s, S 185º

Mix of southerly energies at the buoys. Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore

Waimea

  • 1ft
    , 13s, NW 315º

Mokapu

        • 4ft
          , 11s, E 80º
        • 3.6ft
          , 5s, NE 55º
        • 2ft
          , 8s, ENE 70º

Waimea is the only buoy still showing a bit of the small NW swell I discussed yesterday, sign that it was very small indeed. Mokapu instead shows different periods of easterly windswell. Home guess for Hookipa is waist to belly, occasionally chest high. Bigger on eastern exposures.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
