Thursday 10 10 24 morning call

Hookipa yesterday.

Lanai still shows a healthy 2.7ft 13s of the old swell while both buoys show a small 20s reading from a new one. Below are the maps of Oct 4 through 6 that show the angular fetch that generated it. It's an angular spreading of a very large swell headed towards central and south America, so don't expect much consistency out of it. Surfline calls for 2ft 18s tomorrow and 3ft 15s the day after. Doesn't look like much today on the cam.

Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

            • 1.8ft
              , 8s, ENE 70º

Third day in a row in which the NW energy is bigger at Pauwela than at the other buoys. That's because the bulk of the swell has been missing us to our east (hence it's bigger there). The maps below of Oct 6 and 7 show the fetch that generated it. Home guess for Hookipa is around head and a half with occasional bigger sets.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
