The NNW energy at the buoys is high and this swell has a ton of energy. The maps below of April 3 through 5 show the fetch that generated it. I believe that yesterday afternoon we received the waves generated in the head of the fetch, today longer periods should arrive from the back of it (Surfline calls for 12ft 17s at sunset). Home guess for Hookipa is around double overhead plus and stormy looking in the morning, building to triple overhead plus by sunset. It's also going to be windy and I predict a busy day for the lifeguards at Kanaha. This is a dangerous swell with a lot of current, stay out of the water if you're not sure you can handle.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
