Monday 11 2 26 morning call

Hookipa yesterday.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion
.
South shore

On days with a big NW swell, the Barbers Point and Harbor entrance buoys in Oahu only shows the NW wrap and with Lanai down, there's actually no local buoys showing what's in the water from the south. We have to rely on the Surfline forecast that calls for a declining 1.9ft 14s to start the day with. Do integrate that with the observation of the webcams (including the Oahu ones). Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

              • 8.7ft

              • 5.2ft

Mokapu

                , 6s, NE 40º
The large NW swell continues. Home guess for Hookipa is double overhead plus and stormy (because of the many periods shown by Waimea and the strong trades).

Wind map at noon (1 day old prediction). The other ones can be found here.
