Friday 4 15 22 morning call

Hookipa yesterday afternoon.

10 minutes of yesterday's wing downwinder.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
Barbers
1.6ft at 13s SSW 195º

Bit of leftover southerly energy at Barbers. Check the Lahaina and Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW101
3.5ft @ 13s from 340° (NNW)

Hanalei

1.4ft @ 13s from 317° (NW)
1ft @ 15s from 328° (NW)

Waimea
1.1ft @ 11s from 331° (NNW)

Mokapu

4.3ft @ 7s from 89° (E)
4.1ft @ 8s from 77° (ENE)

The NW and Hanalei buoy readings indicate that there should be a bit more of NW energy arriving locally in the afternoon. Below is the Surfline forecast that confirms so (blue line). Nothing to be particularly excited about, but it should get bigger than yesterday. Not in the morning though, when the main energy in the water will be the now weakened easterly windswell. Home guess for Hookipa is for waist to chest high.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
