6 7 15 morning call

Didn't go south yesterday for the first time in two weeks in a row and absolutely hated the shitty waves at Hookipa. All wobbly, lumpy, closing out and crowded.
Hookipa can be good, but most times it's a pretty average surf spot. You realize that when you surf somewhere else for a while.
Fortunately I made up with it in the afternoon. "sneaky slog and surf sailing session after work" I called for and sneaky slog and surf sailing session after work it was. That was really fun.

Buoys
NW
3.4ft @ 12s from 326° (NW)
3.3ft @ 10s from 308° (WNW)

Waimea
3.9ft @ 13s from 320° (NW)
1.8ft @ 10s from 326° (NW)

Pauwela
3.6ft @ 12s from 21° (NNE)
3.2ft @ 9s from 94° (E)

Barbers
3ft @ 13s from 299° (WNW)
2.2ft @ 11s from 305° (WNW)

Buoys are extremely confusing today.
Is the swell at Hookipa NNE or NW? I remember the fetch being NW, but Pauwela is reading NNE... anyway, whatever it is, there's waves.
Barbers is reading weird WNW wraps too, but there's waves on the south shore too even though probably in the waist/belly high range only.

Wind will be light in the morning and then light trades will pick up as the MC2km map at noon shows.

Wind map shows a totally decent fetch in the NW corner. Unfortunately it's not gonna last long, but it should send some waves around Wednesday.
