Sunday 5 3 20 morning call

Gorgeous sunny day of wind and waves yesterday, this is Hookipa.

This, instead, is the launch of a wing-aided foiling downwinder. This week I'll try to do an hour of winging every day and by Saturday I'd like to be able to ride waves with it. New trigger finger surgery date is May 21st, btw.

5am significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
0.9ft @ 11s from 171° (S)

Lanai
1ft @ 13s from 202° (SSW)
0.6ft @ 16s from 205° (SSW)

Slivers of southerly energy at the buoys should make for very small waves on the other side. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW001
3.3ft @ 12s from 344° (NNW)

Hanalei
2.2ft @ 13s from 329° (NW)

Waimea
1.6ft @ 13s from 322° (NW)

Pauwela
5.8ft @ 7s from 61° (ENE)
1.8ft @ 14s from 330° (NW)

Small NW energy plus almost 6ft 7s of windswell should give Hookipa sloppy waves in the head high range.

Wind map at noon (the other ones can be found at link n.-2 of GP's meteo websites list in the right column).
