Tuesday 8 1 23 morning call

New video by Mr Bennets, this time on an Armstrong foil.

Opposite season on this side of the world, so it's all about downwinders for me. Below is the recap of the runs I did in July. There's no windfoil nor Foil Drive assisted SUP foiling downinders in my Sports Tracker app, so I chose windsurfing for the first and mountain biking for the second.

7am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
Barbers

    • 4.1ft
      , 8s, SSE 160º
    • 1.2ft
      , 18s, SSW 210º
    • 0.9ft
      , 13s, S 185º

Lanai

    • 1.3ft
      , 18s, SSW 210º
    • 2.1ft
      , 8s, SSE 165º
    • 1ft
      , 14s, S 175º

Long period Tasman Sea swell is in the water.  Looks inconsistent (as you would expect from an 18s swell from that region), but there's head high sets. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore

Mokapu

    • 4.4ft
      , 7s, ENE 70º
    • 3.9ft
      , 5s, ENE 70º

Only easterly windswell on the north shore also today. Home guess for Hookipa is knee to waist high.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
