8am when the 13s sets come The Point is double overhead. But there's few of them compared to the rest of the energies and overall hookipa is around head and a half and a bit all over the place. Not much wind yet at least

This is a sequence of Browsinho yesterday at Hookipa. You've probably seen many bottom turn shots like this.

But instead of a "simple" top turn, he spotted a corner with enough energy for a 360 and is contorting his body to get to it.

He hit it under the lip and became one with the lip to come out of the move clean. Absolutely remarkable.

Just as remarkable was Cash Berzolla's display of wingfoiling skills, later in the afternoon.

A new long period  pulse of NNE energy picked up yesterday at the N buoy. Below is the map of Dec 21 on which I drew and extra yellow circle to point out the section of the fetch that generated it. Being further away than the rest of it and with stronger winds justify the longer period than what we've received already in the last three days. On the great circle map on the right, I point out the 30 degrees one to show its position right across it.

Hilo shows 8.7ft @ 13s from 32 while Kanehoe Bay shows 4.4ft @ 13s from 30° (NNE), we might be somewhere in the middle of that, let's say 6.5ft. Based on that, the biggest sets at Hookipa might be double overhead plus and if it wasn't for all the other shorter period NNE energies overlapping and for the wind that will be on it, a swell like this has the potential to turn The Point into a little Jeffrey's Bay... but again, not today.
The real question is: is it going to wrap on the west side or does it have too much east? First webcams (whatever is left of them) indication is yes, but much less than what would be if it was from 0 to 20 degrees.

No photos from yesterday, this is a comparison between the foil gear I was riding 4 years ago (video by Jason taken in Dec 2017) and what's on top my car at the moment. It's been a wonderful journey, far from approaching its end.
