Another day of beautiful waves on the north shore, thanks to the lack of trades. This is my pick of Jimmie Hepp's album.
4am significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
0.3ft @ 20s from 211° (SW)
South facing buoys are registering mostly the NW energy, but Barbers shows a sliver of 20s SW energy from the Tasman Sea which should provide a new small swell tomorrow. There shouldn't be much today, but check the Lahaina webcam
if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
NW101
7.8ft @ 10s from 330° (NW)
Waimea
Mokapu
3.3ft @ 9s from 42° (NE)
NW energy continues, Maui should have around 4ft 12s plus the NE energy you see at Mokapu. Probably another overhead day at Hookipa with great conditions.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue:
angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: apparent direct aim,
but out of the great circle ray map, so not 100% sure).
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner
of the North Pacific):
South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
Morning sky.
