Sunday 3 3 24 morning call

Hookipa yesterday. Photos by Jimmie Hepp from this album.

I took these ones around 4.30pm.

Mauidownwingfoil organized another practice race and these are the results. Please don't do the mistake to compare my time to the others, as the Foil Drive makes every takeoff pretty much immediate and as such it's a huge advantage.
Getting to the harbor the fastest I can has never been in my mind during a run. Now it is, and it just added a new dimension of fun!

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion. South shore

No southerly energy at Barbers, but as we know, that doesn't mean that there's isn't any. Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

The angular spreading N swell picked up pretty solid at Pauwela while the NW buoy shows a likewise solid NW one out of the fetch highlighted yesterday. This last one will slowly pick up during the day (Surfline calls for 2.6ft 16s at 6pm). Home guess for Hookipa is around head and a half to occasionally bigger.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
