This new NW swell is either smaller than predicted or late. I looked at Hookipa at sunset and it sure looked a lot smaller than the Surfline prediction of 4.5ft 18s. For this morning, they're calling for 6ft 16s and they buoys readings suggest that might only happen later in the day. Home guess for Hookipa is around head and a half with a possible building trend throughout the day.

New long period NW swell is rising at the buoys. The maps of Feb 13 thorugh 16 below show the fetch that generated it. Home guess for Hookipa in the early morning is around chest to head high from the leftover 3ft 11s of the previous swell with occasional head high long period sets of the new one which will become bigger and more consistent as the day progresses (Surfline is calling for 4.5ft 18s at sunset).

New medium period closely generated NW energy is at the buoys. It comes from the fetch indicated in the maps of Feb 13 and 14 below. Home guess for Hookipa is around head and a half to double with a building trend. No wind in the early morning will make for smooth faces, but tons of energy and high consistency will make for not particularly easy conditions.
