Tuesday 2 18 25 morning call

Hookipa yesterday morning.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion. South shore

      • 1.1ft

All Lanai reads is westerly energy, but I doubt much of that will reach Kihei and Wailea. Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

This new NW swell is either smaller than predicted or late. I looked at Hookipa at sunset and it sure looked a lot smaller than the Surfline prediction of 4.5ft 18s. For this morning, they're calling for 6ft 16s and they buoys readings suggest that might only happen later in the day. Home guess for Hookipa is around head and a half with a possible building trend throughout the day.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
