Friday 8 5 22 morning call

Kanaha yesterday.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
Lanai

  • 1.8ft
    , 10s, S 180º
  • 0.6ft
    , 14s, S 190º

Barbers

  • 1.9ft
    , 11s, S 180º
  • 0.5ft
    , 13s, S 175º

Very small southerly energy at the buoys. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore

Mokapu

  • 3.1ft
    , 8s, NNE 30º
  • 1.7ft
    , 13s, E 90º

In day with virtually no wind and no south swell, the mix of energies at Mokapu will be the main source of water action. Home guess for Hookipa is waist to chest high, bigger on eastern exposures, as those will be more exposed to the small 13s easterly swell.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
