That less than a foot of long period NW energy at the outer buoys should come from the fetch indicated in the maps of March 5 through 8 below. The lack of significant NW fetches on those maps should explains the lack of swells of the past few days. Surfline only calls for 0.9 ft 18s at sunset for this one. On the other hand, the easterly windswell keeps pumping and today it comes from 65 degrees, so it should hit our north shore better than the past few days. Home guess for Hookipa is around waist to head high with occasional bigger sets. Bigger on eastern exposures.
