Sunday 3 15 26 morning call

I took this shot of the empty parking lot at Mama's around 6.30pm yesterday. I was just happy to be able to go for a walk after 48 hours of slashing rain.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion. South shore

        , 9s, WSW 245º
      • 2.2ft
        , 13s, W 270º
Both buoys show significant Kona windswell and some westerly energy also coming from the Kona low. Check the Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

Pauwela

            • 3.6ft
              , 13s, N 350º
            • 4ft

            • 1.8ft
              , 3s, S 180º
The outer buoys show the westerly energy coming from the Kona low. That energy is not going to affect the north shore (but it will all the facing west shores). Pauwela instead shows 3.6ft 13 of northerly energy coming from the very top (south of the Gulf of Alaska) of this huge Kona low. Home guess for Hookipa is around head to overhead high with occasional bigger sets. Parks likely still closed and water likely brown.

Wind map at noon (two days old prediction). The other ones can be found here.
