3am significant buoy readings
South shore
Barbers
2.6ft @ 14s from 179° (S)
Lanai
3.2ft @ 13s from 191° (SSW)
Southerly energy holding up nicely at the buoys, I personally prefer them to the weekend numbers, as more spots will work and less people will be in the water because:
- it's a week day
- they're tired after many days of good waves
- they think it's now smaller than it's been (which is true) and not so worth it anymore (which is not true).
How's that 5.25am empty harbor beauty to prove my point? Check the webcam before going, there's not as many sets like that anymore.
North shore
Pauwela
4.1ft @ 6s from 44° (NE)
2.4ft @ 9s from 19° (NNE)
Hookipa has been waist to shoulder high and that should be the case also today. Windy already in the early morning.
Wind map at noon.
North Pacific has a weak NW fetch.
South Pacific has a fetch east of New Zealand. The red circle shows the section of winds with a direct aim, the blue ones are the ones from which we'll get angular spread energy.
Morning sky.
