Monday 7 22 19 morning call

Yesterday was a perfect day for downwinders of any kind and I really felt how limiting having a trigger finger condition can be. I'm starting to think about surgery, but I still want to try a bit longer to find what I am doing that doesn't allow it to heal naturally.

Casey and Sarah Hauser held their free one day camp for the kids to try windsurfing. They even had a tandem board this time. Last one will be Sunday 28 10-12.

Here's another image of Cloudbreak on the 17th that makes us hope for some leftover energy on the south shore tomorrow. Keahi de Aboitiz by Namotu Island Resort.

Clay Marzo got second in the Rip Curl Padang Padang contest in Bali. Here you can find the condensed heats.

5am significant buoy readings and discussion.
Barbers
1.1ft @ 13s from 213° (SW)
1ft @ 15s from 212° (SW)

Lanai
1.1ft @ 15s from 200° (SSW)
1ft @ 11s from 180° (S)

Not really much at the buoys, but a promising 1ft 15s. Direction indicates that it could be the Fiji swell already, but I hope it's going to be bigger tomorrow. The cam in fact only shows... what it shows. Check it out yourself.

North shore
Mokapu
4.4ft @ 8s from 76° (ENE)

Hilo
5.1ft @ 8s from 82° (E)

Easterly windswell will make once again for some waves at Hookipa (yesterday waist to chest) and the east facing shores.

Wind map at noon.

Windswell only in the North Pacific.

South Pacific today has a fetch in a really good position. Too bad it's pretty weak.

Morning sky. Some rain south of us.
