Si Crowther was on a boat and posted this album. This is my absolute favorite. Not only it's a perfect barreling and heavy A-frame, but if you look closely, you can see Albee Layer about to be polverized by that lip. How do those guys survive those impacts (inflatable life vest or not), it's a mystery for me.
This one really gives us an idea of the size of these waves (or does it?). Ian Walsh staring into the abyss while popping up.
Made it to the bottom, how big is that? I'll leave the guessing to you guys... full sequence on the album I linked.
Overall, the photos from the cliff can't really compete with the ones at water level, but this one by John Patao really makes you think about the (terrifying) vision the surfer must have had there.

Yesterday's NW fetch off the Kurils became captured (it moved towards us): 9.6ft 15s from 322 predicted by Surfline on Tuesday morning on Maui. This swell will pick during the night on Oahu, it'll be interesting to see if the they run the contest Monday or Tuesday. The don't have many heats left, they might run it Monday afternoon. Notice how immersed we now are in a patch of fresh trades.
Nothing of relevance from the south.
Morning sky.
