Saturday 2 19 22 morning call

Hookipa yesterday afternoon. Photo by Jimmie Hepp from this gallery.

3am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers is mostly reading NW wrap and can't be used to detect small southerly energy. Check the Lahaina and Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW001
7ft @ 15s from 314° (NW)

Hanalei

7.8ft @ 10s from 26° (NNE)
5.1ft @ 13s from 316° (NW)

Waimea

4.7ft @ 13s from 317° (NW)
2.5ft @ 9s from 34° (NE)
1.4ft @ 18s from 325° (NW)

Mokapu
5.6ft @ 10s from 82° (E)

Hilo
7.3ft @ 10s from 97° (E)

Yet another NW pulse is showing at the buoys (18s reading at Waimea) while yesterday's one still lingers around (13s reading at Waimea). Home guess for Hookipa is for head high with possible bigger sets and clean and relatively clean wind-wise, but with windswell travelling across. Sunset should have longer period waves.
Eastern exposures will have waves too.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
