Wednesday 2 16 22 morning call

Hookipa yesterday afternoon.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers is mostly reading NW wrap and can't be used to detect small southerly energy. Check the Lahaina and Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW101
10.2ft @ 15s from 310° (WNW)

Hanalei

10.4ft @ 15s from 304° (WNW)

Waimea

8.2ft @ 17s from 309° (WNW)

Mokapu
4.4ft @ 9s from 57° (ENE)

High WNW energy continues at the buoys. Home guess for Hookipa is double overhead plus in the sets, which will continue to be inconsistent. Much smaller down the coast towards Kahului. The Pacioos forecast below and the fetch on today's map show us that we're going to deal with big waves for the rest of the week.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
