Empty Hookipa yesterday at sunset after the lifeguards closed the beaches from there to Baldwin in the afternoon due to a shark bumping into a surfer in the area.

NW swell peaked yesterday and today is still around 3ft 13s while a new swell from the second fetch we saw a couple of days ago started to show up at the upstream buoys (4.4ft 16s at NW001). Home guess for Hookipa is head high and no wind for most of the morning. The new swell will send some sets at sunset, peaking overhead tomorrow.
Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.

The distance from Hookipa to Tavares Bay is 1.4 miles. Yet the State has closed Hookipa claiming that it is a distance of less than 1 mile.
