Friday 9 4 20 morning call

A nice crack by Jesse Brown to the lip of a Pavillions wave is the photo of the day that shows the NE windswell.

4am significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1.6ft @ 12s from 197° (SSW)
0.8ft @ 16s from 177° (S)
0.6ft @ 20s from 196° (SSW)

Lanai wasn't available on the Surfline buoy page, interesting mix of periods at Barbers. It definitely shows on the Lahaina webcam. Check it if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
N
4.6ft @ 10s from 70° (ENE)

Mokapu
4.5ft @ 9s from 54° (ENE)

Pauwela is down on the Surfline buoy page, but N and Mokapu tell us what the NE windswell should be also in our waters. Head high waves at Hookipa is my call from home.

Wind map at noon (the other ones can be found at link n.-2 of GP's meteo websites list in the right column).

Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: apparent direct aim, but out of the great circle ray map, so not 100% sure).
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):

South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):

Morning sky.
