Monday 9 21 20 morning call

This was Hookipa in the morning.

This was Hookipa in the afternoon. Photo by Jimmie Hepp from this gallery.

13 years old Erin Brooks was signed by Rip Curl and this video of a Wako session with mentor Bethany Hamilton was just released. Pretty incredible surfing from both ladies.

4am significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers

2.3ft @ 8s from 161° (SSE)
1.8ft @ 15s from 191° (SSW)
1.6ft @ 11s from 191° (SSW)
1.4ft @ 12s from 191° (SSW)

Lanai

1.7ft @ 17s from 177° (S)
1.6ft @ 13s from 179° (S)

Good numbers at the buoys again, check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
Pauwela

4.4ft @ 9s from 11° (NNE)
2.7ft @ 6s from 68° (ENE)

Period is down to 9s, but 4.4ft will still make for some waves possibly up to head high at hookipa.

Wind map at noon (the other ones can be found at link n.-2 of GP's meteo websites list in the right column).

Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: apparent direct aim, but out of the great circle ray map, so not 100% sure).
