Saturday 5 7 22 morning call

The Maui foiling community lost a wonderful member a few days ago. I did this Foil Drive assisted SUP foiling downwind run yesterday in memory of Randy Hillen.

Hookipa yesterday afternoon. Photo by Jimmie Hepp from this album.

Hookipa late afternoon.

3am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
Barbers
2.2ft at 14s S 180ยบ

South swell winding down, check the Lahaina and Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
Hanalei
0.7ft @ 14s from 304° (WNW)

Waimea
0.8ft @ 14s from 293° (WNW)

Mokapu
8.4ft @ 8s from 81° (E)

Big NW swell has completely gone while a new tiny WNW energy shows up at Hanalei and Waimea. Below is the map of May 5th with an arrow to indicate the small fetch that generated it.

It shouldn't do much at all locally, specially considering the elevated easterly windswell. Home guess for Hookipa is for chest to head high and windy/stormy.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
