Wednesday 5 4 22 morning call

A couple of photos of Lahaina yesterday.

And a couple of photos of Hookipa in the late afternoon.

The new long period NW swell had some bombs.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
Barbers
5.7ft at 17s SW 220ยบ

Not a chance that the long period south swell is what Barbers reads, that is the wrap of the NW one. We don't know how big it really is this morning, but we can check the Lahaina and Kihei webcam for that. Looks solid.

North shore
NW101
8.3ft @ 15s from 331° (NNW)

Hanalei

5.6ft @ 17s from 319° (NW)
2.4ft @ 11s from 323° (NW)

Waimea

4.5ft @ 17s from 313° (NW)
2.8ft @ 12s from 324° (NW)

Mokapu
5.9ft @ 9s from 86° (E)

Long period NW swell is up at the buoys with some solid numbers. Big day on the north shore, Hookipa too big for the common mortals and in the double to triple overhead range.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
